Seven Days Before My Trip… Everything Fell Apart
Some trips go exactly as planned. And then there are the trips that test everything you know about resilience, creativity, and faith.
Seven days before my group was scheduled to land in South Africa, the company hosting our itinerary called to say they had lost a court case and could not operate for 60 days.
In other words… our entire trip was gone.
No plan. No logistics. No support.
So I did what travel advisors sometimes have to do — I built a new itinerary from scratch.
And as I sit here on my final day in Zambia, I can say this: the experience that followed was even more incredible than what we originally planned.
What Happened Next
Five of the six travelers still decided to come — and I’m so grateful they trusted the process. Within a few days, I rebuilt the itinerary from scratch, coordinating hotels, transfers, excursions, and guides across multiple countries. It was a reminder that sometimes travel isn’t just about planning the perfect trip — it’s about being able to pivot when the unexpected happens.
The Reward
And the reward for not giving up was extraordinary. We experienced the breathtaking blue waters and coastal beauty of Cape Town, the vibrant energy and culture of Johannesburg (especially at Saint), and one of the most unforgettable safaris imaginable at Babohi at Qwabi Private Game Reserve. On safari we saw lions, rhinos, elephants, hippos, warthogs, and so many other incredible animals in their natural environment — moments that simply can’t be replicated anywhere else. Plus, the food was a foodie's dream!
Zambia & Mosi-oa-Tunya
From there we continued to Zambia, where we witnessed the powerful beauty of Mosi-oa-Tunya — “The Smoke That Thunders” — also known as Victoria Falls. Standing there watching the waterfalls roar and feeling the mist rise into the air was one of those moments that reminds you just how magnificent our world truly is.
This trip reminded me that travel — much like life — doesn’t always go exactly according to plan. But when you stay flexible, trust the journey, and keep moving forward, the experience can become even more meaningful than what you originally imagined.
And honestly, this is one of the reasons I love what I do.
Helping people experience the world — even when things get a little unpredictable — is truly a privilege.
Won’t He do it?! 🙌🏾

If Africa has ever been on your bucket list, consider this your sign. The beauty, the wildlife, the culture, and the people create an experience that stays with you long after you return home.
Experiences like South Africa and Zambia remind me why travel to Africa is so powerful. The landscapes are breathtaking, the wildlife unforgettable, and the culture deeply moving in ways that stay with you long after you return home.
And while Southern Africa offered incredible beauty and adventure, it also reminded me how many different stories and experiences the continent holds. Which brings me to something I’m very excited to share…

The Women’s Table: A Conversation on Connection, Care & Collective Support
In times like these, many of us are carrying more than we let on. Between the constant noise of the world and the responsibilities we hold every day, it’s easy to feel stretched, isolated, or simply in need of deeper connection.
That’s exactly why we created The Women’s Table.
This isn’t a panel, a workshop, or a networking event. It’s a guided, café-style gathering where women can sit together, have honest conversations, and explore what support really looks like in this season of life.
Together we’ll talk about how to build community intentionally, how to show up for one another without burning out, and how to create the kind of support systems that help us thrive.
If you’ve been craving meaningful connection, thoughtful conversation, and a space where you can simply show up as yourself, The Women’s Table was created for you.
Seats are intentionally limited so the space remains intimate and authentic.
